Goodlettsville, TN-Charles Eugene Earley, 81, passed away March 7, 2019, in Goodlettsville, TN. He was born in the Rock Springs Community of Polk County, NC, on April 10, 1937, the son of the late Charlie Erastus Earley and Odessa Elizabeth Searcy. He graduated from Mill Spring High School in 1955, served in the US Air Force, and attended Spartanburg Junior College and Isothermal Community College. He worked for many years as a self-taught engineer at GF Business Equipment in Forest City, NC, and later as a Realtor and building contractor in the Lake Lure area. He was a life-long member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Reba Ledbetter Earley, son Tony Earley, daughter-in-law Sarah Bell Earley and granddaughters Clara and Ruthie, as well as his brother Jack and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Shelly and brother Bill. 

 

Arrangements are incomplete at this time but a memorial service will be held later in the spring at Rock Springs Baptist Church. The family can be reached at 1506 Fatherland St., Nashville, TN 37206.
