HISTORY ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Published 10:57 pm Sunday, March 3, 2019
As the song goes “On The Road Again,” the Polk County Historical Association is offering its March program on MA Pace’s Store in downtown Saluda. Unlike most history programs that are held inside the historical museum, this presentation will be held inside the store.
Started in 1899, MA Pace’s Store is one of the longest running family businesses in Polk County. The same family has owned and operated the store for over 100 years. It is an old fashioned hardware store carrying an array of dry goods for the home and business. As the old saying goes, if they don’t have it, you probably don’t need it.
Last year the Polk County Historical Association asked folks to nominate the most important historical places in the county. MA Pace’s Store made the top ten list of local historical sites.
The presentation on March 5th will start at 2:30pm inside the store at 50 Main Street in the City of Saluda. The public is invited and as always there is no cost for the program.
