Two arrested for animal cruelty

On Saturday, January 19, 2019, Polk County Animal Enforcement Investigators went to an address on Sandy Plains Road in Tryon to conduct a health and welfare check on a dog complaint they had received.
Once there, Investigators noticed four severely underweight and emaciated horses on the property.
All four horses were seized and transported to the Foothills Equine Rescue Assistance for medical treatment. Three horses are currently receiving treatment and are under veterinary care. One horse had to be euthanized.
Two persons were arrested as a result of the investigation.
Stephen Dallas Robinson, age 25, was arrested on the following charges:
- Felony Kill Animal by Starvation
- 3 counts Cruelty to Animals
Bobbi Jo Robinson, age 38, was arrested on the following charges:
- Felony Kill Animal by Starvation
- 3 counts Cruelty to Animals
