Judith Metcalf

Judith Metcalf, 80, of Saluda, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2019.

She was the daughter of the late Burton and Armintia Summey Metcalf and wife of the late Buddy Metcalf.

She is survived by her sister, Janice Morrison; a brother, C. L. Metcalf; and her “adopted family,” Jonathan and Judi Metcalf and their three children, Alex, Erica and Melanie.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, B. L. Metcalf and G. L. Metcalf; and two sisters, Clestell Newell and Claire Metcalf.

Judith was a devoted preacher’s wife, excellent “adopted” grandmother and friend to many.

She graduated Saluda High School in 1957.

Mrs. Metcalf loved her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, playing with children, watching murder mysteries and fellowshipping with close friends. She was known for her strong will, passion and caring nature. She will be dearly missed.

There was a graveside service at Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.  The Rev. Dr. Jason Metcalf and the Rev. John Williams preached and James Metcalf sang.

The family received friends at the home.
