The Cooperative Extension of Polk County has opened registration for Winter 4-H Clubs for students ages 5-18.
After a very active fall slate of classes, the Polk County 4-H is offering five different club options for the winter semester, most of which run from January through April. Each club meets one time monthly, from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension building on 79 Carmel Lane in Columbus.
Winter semester 4-H clubs include a Cloverbud Club for ages 5-8, a Sewing Club for ages 9-18, a Woodworking Club for ages 9-18, a Cooking Club for ages 9-18 and a Tinkering Club (makerspace) for ages 7-12.
Cooking and Sewing clubs each require a small materials fee; all other clubs are free to join.
Those interested in learning more may visit the extension website at polk.ces.ncsu.edu or may call 828-894-8218.
