In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 80 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following were convicted of a crime:
Sarah Beth Brown was convicted of attempted possession of a firearm by a felon. Brown was sentenced to 36-months supervised probation and court costs.
Umesh Chahan was convicted of speeding 84 mph in a 70 mph zone and failure to appear on misdemeanor. Chahan was sentenced to one-year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Patrick Cory Day was convicted of two counts of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation. Day was sentenced to one-year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Timothy Hamrick was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Hamrick was sentenced to one-year supervised probation and court costs.
Chanvibol Leng was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Leng was fined $10 and court costs.
Heidi Elizabeth Lynch was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Lynch was fined $40 and court costs.
Santa Omar Nazario was convicted of level-five driving while impaired. Nazario was sentenced to one-year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Tiffany Jessica Nock was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Nock was sentenced to one-year supervised probation and court costs.
Mark I Pitsul was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Pitsul was fined $40 and court costs.
Stven Ray Sorgee was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Sorgee was sentenced to 8 to 19 months in prison.
