Tryon Elementary students look to ‘spike’ bullying

Tryon Elementary capped Anti-Bullying Month with a visit from Polk County High School’s volleyball team, who urged students to “spike” bullying.

Tryon students participated in several activities throughout the final week of the month, including Pajama Day, “Put Bullying to Bed,” Twin Tuesday, “Work Together to Stop Bullying” and Mix & Match Day.

Teachers and students in kindergarten and first-grade classes also participated in an Anti-Bullying Door Contest, with the winner receiving a pizza party.

The PCHS volleyball players talked with students about why it’s important for schools to be bully-free. Players and coaches also joined Tryon Elementary staff members in a friendly volleyball game for students to watch.
