Elaine’s Attic to host display of locally made quilts Nov. 23-24

Landrum quilt shop Elaine’s Attic will host a two-day display of locally made quilts on Black Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23 and 24, at the shop, 227 E. Rutherford St.
The display, Warm Hug Quilts, will showcase quilts created by the shop and its customers, which will be donated to Black Mountain Home for Children. Children who stay at the home will receive one of the twin bed size quilts, which they can keep after leaving the home.
Elaine’s Attic organized the charity two years ago, with the shop and customers creating 58 quilts last year.
In addition to showing off the quilts for the children, the shop hopes next week’s display will encourage other quilters and possibly non-quilters to participate in next year’s donation drive. The shop will share brochures about Black Mountain Home for Children during the event as well.
