Saluda Girl Scout Troop donates coats, blankets for homeless veterans

Members of Saluda’s Girl Scout Troop 13162 recently finished up its coat and blanket drive for homeless veterans. The Scouts donated the items to Veterans Restoration Quarters in Asheville, where they help veterans with many issues in life and assist them with food and daily life needs. The troop donated 55 blankets and 25 coats for veterans. Troop 13162 is mostly Daisy Scouts and Brownie Scouts, with members ranging from Kindergarten to second grade, ages 5-7. Members are: leaders, Elizabeth Trumann and Leanne Panter-Hayford; scouts, Brooke Trumann, Kayla Hayford, McKensie Southern, Piper Clayton, Peyton Singleton, Amelia Pressley, Abigail Bounds and Nora Holloway.
