Downtown Tryon is ready to be spooked with trick-or-treaters coming through downtown. The Halloween Stroll will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, starting with the costume contest taking place at the clocktower at 5:30 p.m.
Age groups will receive prizes for scariest, funniest, most creative and best overall for age groups 0-5, 6-10, 10-15, and also pet costumes with prizes from Blue Ridge Barkway in downtown Tryon.
New this year is a group costume contest, with a gift certificate from Side Street Pizza as the prize.
Every boy and ghoul, young and old, is invited to dress up and creep, crawl or ride a broomstick to see what tricks or treats await them from downtown Tryon’s shops. Trick or treating will start right after the costume contest.
Businesses and organizations outside of downtown Tryon are welcome to set up on the street after 4:30 p.m. when the street is closed. All vehicles must be removed before 5 p.m.
Trick or Treating will start after the costume contest, at approximately 6 p.m.
