Polk spikes Owen in four sets to move back into tie for conference lead

Polk County moved back into a tie for first place in the Western Highlands Conference on Thursday, downing league leader Owen 3-1 in Swannanoa.
The Wolverines earned a 25-20, 25-27, 25-10, 25-17 victory to avenge a loss earlier this season to Owen. Polk improved to 9-7, 5-1 with its sixth straight win.
Owen dropped to 9-8, 4-1.
Mireya Roman had 11 kills and 11 blocks for the Wolverines, with Grace Lauer finishing with 15 kills and Kristen Hall adding 13 kills, 18 digs and six blocks.
Ansley Lynch had 35 digs, Carolina Castillo had 12 digs and Sydney Waldman finished with 37 assists, 16 digs and four blocks for Polk.
Polk County will continue conference play on Monday, hosting Avery.
