Columbus Police Department report – August 2018

During the month of August, the Columbus Police Department answered 503 calls for service.

There were eight felony arrests; 15 misdemeanor arrests; five driving while impaired and three fugitive arrests.

Charges included 66 speeding citations; eight no operator’s license; 14 driving while license revoked; 13 drug charges; five uninsured motorists; 12 careless and reckless driving; 32 registration violations; and three open container.

Officers completed 85 residence checks, 8,880 business checks and 194 church checks, for a total of 9,154 premise checks.

Officers assisted other agencies 22 times and completed 112 hours of training.
