Organizers of the Top of the Grade Concerts invites the community to celebrate the end of the summer concert series by singing along and dancing to the music of Sound Investment at McCreery Park in Saluda on Friday.
The concert will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at McCreery Park downtown.
From Sound Investment, audiences will hear the sounds of the Beach Boys, Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Sam & Dave, The Four Tops, Young Rascals, Temptations, Righteous Brothers, Kinks, Supremes, Doobie Brothers, Atlanta Rhythm Section and many more.
“Top of the Grade Concerts has been one of the most enjoyable venues that Sound Investment has experienced,” said band member Rodney Gibson. “Everything about it has been great for the band.
“But for us, the most important thing is the people. When we see people enjoying the music and dancing, it energizes us and our playing. We have a wide variety of classic rock music that we play and a long song list so when we get a request that we know; it makes it even more fun.
“The ability to play in the pavilion when the weather isn’t cooperating has made it even more rewarding. And I must say that the organizers and volunteers have been fantastic. Thanks for letting us keep the classics alive.”
Top of the Grade concerts are coordinated by the city of Saluda’s Saluda Downtown Foundation, and funding for the Friday night concert has been through the sponsorship of the Saluda Business Association.
The concert is free to the public. Concert goers should bring their own chairs or blankets. Food, soft drinks and coolers are allowed.
In case of rain, events may move to the pavilion.
