I would like to thank the Tryon Police Department for being so kind and helpful to us when we discovered someone had smashed my car window and stolen my purse that was hidden under the seat while my granddaughter and I walked the Harmon Field exercise trail on a sunny July Saturday afternoon.

We learned a lesson — never leave valuables in a car, even if it’s a safe and peaceful place like Harmon Field.
