Saluda Living in Place to host third annual health fair Sept. 27

Saluda Living in Place will sponsor its third annual Health Fair from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Saluda Fire Station.
SLIP will partner with Park Ridge Health and its WOW van for the event. The following free health screenings will be offered: cholesterol, including lipid and glucose (fasting preferred); blood pressure; body composition; PSA; colon cancer; and bone density.
People may also visit with representatives from the Aging Project, Blue Ridge Community Health/Collins Dental, Compassionate Home Care, Home Care Services of the Carolinas, Dr. Lisa Broyles, Polk County Transportation, Precision Chair Lift, Saluda Senior Center, Senior Life Solutions, St. Luke’s Hospital and Infusion Center, and The Free Clinics.
People may also pick up resource materials from 211 Information, Go4Life, Hospice, Polk County and Saluda Libraries, RUOK, Saluda Fire Department, Saluda Service Providers and United Health Care.
SLIP can arrange transportation to the event for guests.

• SLIP board meetings are held at 10 a.m. second Thursday of each month at the office at 1347 Ozone Road, Suite C, Saluda, An open house and annual meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15. The work of Saluda artist Jim Carson will be featured.
