In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, with Judge Fritz Mercer presiding, 47 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following people were convicted of a crime:

John Deleon was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Deleon was fined $96 and court costs.

Dabney Parks Jackson was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Jackson was fined $100.

Robert Vance McCraw was convicted of probation violation and second-degree trespassing. McCraw was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

Randy Lee Sibley was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Sibley was fined $40 and court costs.
