Tryon Painters & Sculptors new show, “Country Roads,” will open with a reception and celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Guest artists featured in this show are Jen Selwyn, Kathryn Gillie, Liani Foster and Joe Burgess. Also featured are member artists Becky Hyatt Rickenbaker, Kathy Gagnon, Jim Shackelford and Denise Rose.
In honor of 50 years as a gallery, the works of founding members Lou Ingwerson and Karl Lohse will also be on display.
The evening will include a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. with light refreshments available, where guests can chat with both artists and art lovers.
This August marks 50 years for Tryon Painters and Sculptors, and this opening begins a year of celebration. Tryon Painters and Sculptors has been incorporated as a nonprofit gallery since Aug. 6, 1968.
There will be displays of the work founding painters and sculptors at upcoming openings, and an art celebration party at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center on Saturday, Aug. 11, which will serve as a fundraiser to help pay off the mortgage on the current gallery.
Tryon Painters and Sculptors relies on the generosity of supporters in the community, as well as grants from the Polk County Community Foundation and the Mary K. Kessler fund.
