Avril True Alexander, 92, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 30, 2018.
Born in South Wales, Great Britain, she was the daughter of the late Annie Nash True and Walter Morgan True.
Mrs. Alexander is best remembered for her love and extensive knowledge of antiques and fine things and entertaining, for her love of all creatures great and small, and for her beautiful English garden at her home on Palmetto Street in Spartanburg.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Alexander (Dr. Thomas Irwin Jr.) Dashiell of Tryon, North Carolina; and by her grandson, Dr. Marshall Alexander (Brooke Ingram) Chapman of Greenville, South Carolina.
She was predeceased by a son, Kevin Malcolm Alexander; and by her brother, Malcom True.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 393 E. Main St., Spartanburg, by the Rev. Joanne Hull. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A private burial service will be held at a later date.
