Saluda Community Land Trust founder inducted into Second Wind Hall of Fame

Betsy Burdett received the Second Wind Hall of Fame award at the annual meeting of the Saluda Community Land Trust, the group that sponsored her.

A founding member of SCLT, Burdett has been responsible for spearheading many projects, including Twin Lakes, Judd’s Peak, Round Mountain, Bradley Nature Preserve, the Little Park, the Moody Property, the Community Garden, and recently, the reclamation of Chocolate Drop Mountain. 

In addition, Burdett has volunteered for many years with the Polk County Pony Club, and has nurtured a young woman for several years through the Polk County Big Brother Big Sister program.

Burdett’s interests include horseback riding, weaving, knitting, carving and singing.
