TRYON – Construction workers have started erecting the steel structure for the new VIP and Media Center at the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC). The media building is one of several construction projects TIEC is working on in order to be ready for the World Equestrian Games in September.
The building will be 100 feet by 300 feet and three-stories high. This pavilion replaces the large tent that was located between the Derby field and the George Morris arena.
Other buildings include a new Equestrian Village that includes a hotel and condos, enlarging a covered arena to include spectator seating and a new 20,000-seat arena on the current location of the Derby field.
