Adoption SOS Event rescheduled for Saturday

Due to the snow last Saturday, the many strayed, rescued, and surrendered dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens at the Foothills Humane Society (FHS) will have to wait until this Saturday, Dec. 16, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Adoption SOS Event.
SOS is the old Morse code asking for immediate help and as a private, non-profit, no-kill shelter, the FHS does not euthanize to make room. The only option is to get a surge in adoptions or fosters ASAP.
Chris Taylor, executive director, urges adopters to come in and adopt anytime this week, the sooner the better. “But, if you do wait for the event, trainers and trained shelter staff who know the cats and dogs will be there to offer personal advice for matchmaking owners and pets. Each adoption comes with a bonus goodie-bag while supplies last. Refreshments will be served throughout the day. And, to anyone who adopts a dog or puppy at the event, Kayla Parrish, professional trainer and owner of 2 Lead with Love Training, offers follow-up training at a discount
Susan Wallahora, FHS board president, adds, “Every adopted cat or dog comes with a neuter or spay, up-to-date vaccinations, any illnesses identified and treated, implanted microchip, socialization by our staff, follow-up advice, and as the ultimate adoption assurance, a guarantee that if you don’t lose your heart, your pet will be welcomed back.”
For details call 828-863-4444, or simply stop in and visit at 989 Little Mountain Road, Columbus. FHS is online at www.foothillshumanesociety.org.
