R. Anderson Haynes (Andy) recently made a humorous autobiographical presentation at the Rotary Club of Tryon. The presentation method used a series of “exhibits.” Andy is, after all, an attorney in Tryon, N.C. The exhibits filled a suitcase and ranged from a birth certificate documenting Andy’s birth in 1947 at the “old” St. Luke’s Hospital, to his law school diploma from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Photos of his marriage and other activities were included by Haynes as additional exhibits. He has been and continues to be very active in community life through civic and church involvement. He plays guitar in a group called The Hogbackster Boys and has played some interesting gigs including: The Northside Correctional Facility in Spartanburg, The Peach Festival Tractor Pull in Gaffney, and The Curl Up and Dye Hair Boutique and Mortuary in Ninety Six, S.C.

Haynes joined the Rotary Club of Tryon in 1974 before any of the current 64 members joined this club. In a composite photo of the Rotary Club at that time there were 85 names listed. Three are alive but not in the club; 81 are deceased; 1 is alive and still in the Rotary Club of Tryon (Andy).
