Ethel Jeanette Gosnell, 77, of Tryon, N.C. passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 27, 2017 at the Smith-Phayer Hospice House, Landrum, S.C.

A native of Tryon, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Gosnell and Eva Laughter Gosnell. Ms. Gosnell first worked for Dr. Bosien as his personal secretary and later worked for the Polk County School System. Also, she did private duty caregiving for many years. Ms. Gosnell was a member of Tryon Second Baptist Church, Tryon, N.C.

Surviving is one brother, John W. “Junior” Gosnell, Jr. (Dot) of Tryon, N.C. Also surviving are several cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, N.C. with Mr. Dean Laughter officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
