The Tour de Leaves kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Wolverine Trail in Mill Spring, and benefits youth programs in Polk County. After taking a year off, ride organizers are glad to again have a signature Polk County event to draw visitors to the area. The ride is brought to the community by presenting sponsor Ashworth Financial Group of the Wells Fargo Advisors, and by Nature’s Storehouse the luncheon sponsor.
With a history dating back to 1998, the ride is known for spectacular views of the Fall foliage and the unique scenery of the foothills. The ride benefits the Polk County Department of Social Services youth programs and other area youth groups.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the ride offers routes for advanced riders and medium riders in the TdL Grande (66.1) and TdL Lite (31.9 miles).
Registration is open at tourdeleaves.com. For more information call Lorna at 828-817-1544 or e-mail tourdeleaves@gmail.com.
