► Saluda lifts voluntary water conservation
Saluda has officially been under water conservation measures since Oct. 17, 2016. Saluda City Council released the measures during its July 10 meeting. Saluda gets water from Hendersonville, who released the same declaration in May. Saluda is required to make the same declarations as Hendersonville concerning water shortages.
► Saluda reappoints Ashburn to IPDC transportation committee
During Saluda’s July 10 meeting, council re-appointed commissioner Carolyn Ashburn to the Isothermal Planning and Development (IPDC) Transportation Advisory Committee.
► Landrum agrees to give $5k for Labor Day celebration
The City of Landrum agreed this week to contribute $5,000 to this year’s Labor Day celebration in September. The city closes Trade Avenue for Labor Day festivities, including fireworks at night. The city is giving $5,000 with The Well matching that, according to Landrum Mayor Bob Briggs.
