National Yard Sale Day comes to Tryon’s Hwy. 176

Published 3:16 pm Wednesday, July 12, 2017

Businesses, residents, community centers and more are all welcome to set up an outdoor sale on August 12, National Yard Sale Day.

It can be yard sale items, antiques, arts, etc. Downtown Tryon businesses can sell items in the parking spots outside of their business. Please leave room on the sidewalks for people to pass through. Tryon businesses are encouraged to open at 8 a.m. on this day (items set up outside by 8 a.m.)

A map will be created to include each location participating. If your business, nonprofit, church, or home would like to be included on the map, please contact Jamie Carpenter at jamie@downtowntryon.org or call 828-859-6484. Submit by August 6 to be included in the map.

This is not limited to Tryon and includes anywhere along Hwy. 176 in Polk and Henderson counties and upstate South Carolina. It does not have to be directly on Hwy. 176. Temporary signs are encouraged to direct people to your yard sale.

There will be some parking spots in downtown Tryon where residents may set up a table to sell their yard sale items. Spots are available on a first-come first-served basis. You must provide your own table, and park off Trade Street to allow folks to shop. Nonprofit organizations or churches are encouraged to set up.

Firearms, animals, alcohol, drugs or tobacco, adult or offensive content, counterfeit or other illegal items, prepared foods or baked goods, unless fundraising for a nonprofit organization, are not permitted. Produce is allowed, if you have a commercially prepared food item. Contact 828-859-6484 to discuss.
