The Friends of the Polk County Public Library spring book sale is in full swing at the Columbus Library! The sale opened to the public yesterday and continues today and tomorrow. Books, DVDs, and CDs withdrawn from the library or donated by the community are being sold with most items under $1. The $5 bag sale starts at 3:30 p.m. today and continues all day tomorrow. Starting at noon on Saturday, selected books will be given away for free.
All proceeds from the book sale are used by the Friends of the Library to support Polk County Public Library through projects such as contributing to the children’s Summer Reading Program and other events, sponsoring development opportunities for the library staff, holding appreciation events for the library volunteers, and planning free programs and speakers of general interest for the community.
