LANDRUM – The Landrum Area Business Association (LABA) will hold its second annual car show on N. Trade Avenue on Saturday, April 29, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
According to Linda Fitzgerald, owner of Southern Delights, registration for the car show will start at 10:30 a.m. but cars will show up in Landrum as early as 6:30 a.m.
Last year’s car show brought in 168 cars from all eras to downtown Landrum in addition to more than 500 attendees. The event raised $2,400 for Therapeutic Riding of Tryon (TROT) and the Landrum Backpack Ministry, according to the LABA.
Proceeds from this year’s car show are going towards the Landrum Backpack Ministry, Fitzgerald said.
Fitzgerald said a Facebook event page has been set up and LABA hopes to have 200 cars lined down N. Trade Avenue in this year’s car show.
Volunteers are needed to help with the car show. Those interested in volunteering can contact Magan Etheridge, president of LABA, at 828-817-2845. The LABA needs volunteers specifically for parking cars and selling tickets, and LABA members can sign up for food tables before the show.
Sponsorship packages are also available for purchase through the LABA to help offset the costs of putting on the car show. Depending on the contribution, businesses can either get their name on the official car show shirts, be guest judges for certain categories or be featured in radio ads for the show.
