TRYON – New condos above the Missildine’s project buildings on the southeast corner of Oak and Trade Streets are now listed for sale.
According to Kim Karaman, realtor with Keller Williams Mountain Partners, two of the three condos above the Missildine’s, Bank and Jackson buildings on South Trade Street are ready to be sold and the listings have been posted online. Karaman said the third condo has already been sold.
Owners Scott and Gayle Lane have rehabilitated these buildings, working on the renovations since 2016.
Residents and visitors to Tryon can shop at The Artisan Nest in the Bank building, dine at Black Coffee in the Missildine’s building and browse through the shops in the Jackson building including Tryon Toymakers, Carolina Confections and Manna Cabanna.
Gayle and Scott drove through Tryon and said, “someone has to do something about this” upon seeing the buildings at Trade and Oak Streets before deciding to undertake the renovation project.
The Lanes have been working on reviving the old buildings with architect Dean Trakas, owner and principal architect at Brady-Trakas Architects, and contractor Mike Karaman.
According to the Missildine’s project website, the condo on the left side of the buildings above The Nest Artisan Market has 2,000 sq. ft. of living space with “commanding northeast to southwest views across Trade, Oak and Pacolet Streets to the mountains.” A blueprint of the condos provided by Brady-Trakas Architects can be found on the Missildine’s website.
The condo has two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a guest room with a balcony that looks over Oak Street. A two-room master bedroom suite with a large walk-in closet and master bathroom with cast-iron soaking tub is also part of the condo.
Another condo is above Black Coffee and Carolina Confections and has 2,200 sq. ft. of living space and overlooks Trade Street and Morris the Horse downtown.
This condo includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms with walk-in closets and provides a master suite with an oversized bathroom that includes an integrated shower/bathtub. A back door entrance can be accessed on Trade Street.
A third condo in the back above Black Coffee and Carolina Confections, facing Tryon Mountain, has 1,650 sq. ft. of living space, a 500 sq. ft. private deck and two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bedrooms have walk-in closets and the condo offers a walk-in pantry with wet bar and wine storage.
Additionally, this condo’s master bathroom has an integrated shower and bath. The kitchen has a granite countertop island with skylight and can also be accessed through the back door entrance on Trade Street.
According to the Missildine’s website, all of the condos are accessed from a shared front door between The Artisan Nest and Black Coffee and from the elevator that links the residences to the private parking lot behind the buildings.
With brand new utilities, the condos have LED lights and heat pumps and the units have water, electricity and gas that are separately metered, according to the website. The units are also wired for Windstream or Charter cable, telephone and Internet services.
One condo is listed for $425,000 and the other for $375,000, according to Keller Williams’ website.
