Last train robber topic for guest speaker
The next meeting of The Blue Ridge Railroad Association will take place at the Landrum Depot on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.
Did you know America’s last train robber died in 2012 in Spartanburg? That’s the topic of Wilson Casey, the next speaker, referring to his book, “Bedlam on the West Virginia Rails.”
Casey wrote a daily trivia column in the Herald-Journal that’s now carried in over 500 papers nationwide. He holds a couple trivia-related Guinness World Records and is the most-read writer from the Carolinas with over a yard of traditionally published works. With more than 1,000 speaking appearances around the country, Casey lives in Spartanburg and is an avid tennis player.
There will be no membership requirements or dues assessments. A small donation is appreciated.
