In their monthly board meeting held Dec. 12, the Polk County Board of Education recognized five students in Polk County High School’s art classes taught by Jeff Thomas for their Christmas card artwork. According to Ronette Dill, curriculum director, the district chose five students to represent the county as Christmas cards are sent out to other districts. Each student received an ornament and a pack of 10 Christmas cards with their designs. The five students recognized were Luis Nava, Joy Shanahan, Adam Elder, Daniela Santibanez and Lily Nelson. Santibanez was not present to receive her Christmas cards. (Photos by Michael O’Hearn)
