Dorothy C. Durham

Dorothy Cochran Durham, 92, of Tryon, N.C. passed away, Tuesday evening, Nov. 29, 2016 in White Oak Manor of Tryon.

A native of Polk County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Judge Cochran and Emma Lovin Cochran and wife of the late Burley E. Durham who passed away in 2014. She was a long-time member of Woodman of the World. Mrs. Durham was a member of Tryon First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Durham. Mrs. Durham was the last living member of her family.

Surviving is one son, Roger Durham (Betty Jean) of Tryon, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Margaret Durham of Columbus, N.C.; four grandchildren, Andrew Durham, Andrea Lay (Justin), Everette Durham and Warren Durham (Rowena); four great-grandchildren, Brian Durham, Sean Yedro, Finley Lay, and Samantha Durham.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Jeff Harris and Chaplain Justin Nelson officiating.

Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, N.C.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 2 – 2:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
