On Saturday, Dec. 3, the first all-local Holiday Market will take place at 22 Depot Street in Tryon. This unique shopping event will include artisan crafts, hand-made goods, women’s and children’s apparel, educational books, essential oils, wellness opportunities and more! The market is designed to encourage “shopping local” as well as to give women-owned, home-based business merchants the opportunity to create “pop-up shops” for the day.

Co-organizer Carrie Savaia says, “This event was born when three local women realized how valuable it is to connect with our greater community. With our world “going virtual,” we wanted to introduce our community to women who love what they do and want to share it with others.”

In addition, the event will also feature a “Kids Zone” where children can participate in holiday crafts and activities. A portion of event proceeds will be donated to a local foster-care program in our community. Charity donations will also be collected from holiday cards created by area children as well as a gift basket available through a Holiday Market raffle.

A local food truck will be on-site to provide warm treats and coffee.

Co-organizer Brittany Tokar adds: “I’m excited to see all of the artwork and merchandise available on Saturday, but mostly I’m excited about seeing such an inspiring group of women gathered together in one place…sharing their interests, talents and unique products with the community.”

The Holiday Market will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at 22 Depot Street in Tryon. The event is free to the public. Follow the Holiday Market on Facebook: “All-Local Holiday Market.”
