Applications for the Friendship Council’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. scholarship are now available. They may be obtained from guidance counselors at Polk County and Landrum High Schools, or from the Friendship Council at dtatnall@yahoo.com.
Each year, this scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who will be attending a two or four year college or university. The finalist is chosen for sound academic potential, demonstrated financial need, and evidence of a strong personal commitment to bettering our community, particularly in areas of racial equity, social justice and inclusivity.
Any student who meets the criteria as stated in the application may apply. Students of Polk County and Landrum High Schools, Early College, and home schoolers may apply. Please contact Donna Tatnall at 828-859-7099 or dtatnall@yahoo.com.
