The Foothills Music Club, Inc. held its first meeting of the 2016-2017 year, Sept. 8, at the home of Carole Bartol. The musical program was entitled “By Women Only, Music by Female Composers.”Among the composers represented were Libby Larsen, a prolific American composer of over 500 works; Cécile Chaminade, a French composer of the late 19th and early 20th century; Judith Lang Zaimont, a Tennessee born piano prodigy, educator and performer; and two pieces by local Tryon composer, Rita E. Landrum.
