Make “Super Sunday” September plans with Transit Vocal Band

How do they do that?

The percussive “buh-psst buh-psst” pulse coming not from a cymbal or drum, but a human’s mouth. The tension of a handful of voices singing in close and perfect harmony, then the melody breaking out and over the other voices. Music filling the hall, yet coming only from those five people standing on stage.

The Children’s Theater Festival, which brings you Super Saturday, is delighted to present Transit Vocal Band for our third annual Super Sunday in September. On Sept. 25, beginning at 4 p.m. on Melrose Avenue in Tryon, area families can enjoy an afternoon of music, fun and refreshment, all free of charge thanks to support from the Polk County Community Foundation’s Free Community Event funding.

Headlining the event in Tryon Fine Arts Center’s Peterson Amphitheater will be the vocal band Transit. This group, which is “all band…no instruments,” has wowed audiences with their “soaring leads, smooth harmonies, and a thumping rhythm section.” Other entertainment and food will follow their performance.

Watch for more details coming soon. Find a video of Transit and look for more information on our website, tryonsupersaturday.com. And be sure to follow us on Facebook!
