Carol Lorine Taylor

Carol Lorine Taylor, 82, of Tryon, N.C. passed away Thursday evening, July 28, 2016 at her home.

Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Dolly Mae Wilson Angel. Mrs. Taylor worked many years with the Salvation Army serving as a Lieutenant and later bookkeeper. She and her husband moved to Tryon in 2014 coming from Jacksonville, Fla. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Hendersonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey D. Glass Jr.

Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Donald O. Taylor; two sons, Roger B. Taylor (Alexandra) of Mill Spring, N.C. and Gary O. Taylor (Patti) of Brooklyn, Wisc.; one daughter, Ellen C. Glass (Jeff) of Mill Spring, N.C. Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C. with Major Brian Gilliam of The Salvation Army officiating.

Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, N.C.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Tuesday from 1-1:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
