Top of the Grade Concerts continue Friday with Scoot Pittman

The Top of the Grade Concerts in McCreery Park continue their fourth summer season on July 8 with Scoot Pittman. This will be a great party night in the park since it will be the kick off to the Coon Dog Day weekend festivities.

It takes a professional to seamlessly blend booty shakin’ rhythm with lasting, meaningful lyrics, but that is exactly what Scoot Pittman is, and it is exactly what he has done. Like mama’s Southern cookin’ sticks to your gut, Scoot’s music satisfies that sweet spot in your brain and keeps a smile on your face. Expect to hear some great rock and roll, Americana, funk, soul and original music.

Based in Charlotte, N.C. the band members are Scoot Pittman (guitar/vocals), Tony Anaya (bass/vocals) and Brent Couch (drums/vocals). Scoot is the consummate entertainer and will have everybody on their feet dancing.

All Top of the Grade Concerts take place in the heart of town in McCreery Park. This concert will be held under the picnic pavilion in the park due to setup activity for Coon Dog Day. They begin at 7 p.m., rain or shine. (In case of heavy rain, bands will move to the pavilion in McCreery Park.) Concertgoers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Coolers are welcome, and local restaurants are open.

The Top of the Grade Concerts are made possible through a community grant from Polk County Community Foundation. All concerts are free to the public through a Free Community Events grant. Top of the Grade Concerts are coordinated by the Saluda Downtown Foundation and produced this year by Peter Eisenbrown of Blockparty Productions.
