The Polk Substance Abuse Coalition (PSAC) held an awards dinner Monday, June 27, for members of the community, ranging from retiring St. Luke’s Hospital CEO Ken Shull to Columbus Police Chief Chris Beddingfield, to honor them with awards for their community service and dedication to combatting substance abuse in Polk County. According to PSAC coordinator Kim McDonald, the coalition received a grant two years ago from North Carolina Coalition Initiative, and the awards dinner honored those who helped get the most out of the more than $30,000 grant beginning in 2014.
