Meet the good folk of the Village of Knapeley, Yorkshire, ladies of the WI (Women’s Institute), a couple of husbands, the posh wife of the local major landowner, a woman who lectures on rather strange things, a photographer, a beautician, and a TV ad guy. The play is based on a real group of women who set out to raise money to replace the man-eating settee in the waiting room of the local cancer hospital, and end up becoming a worldwide phenomenon!
