Tammy Swain, owner of Main Street Salon in downtown Landrum, puts the finishing touches on her headless horseman scarecrow. Visitors to Landrum are encouraged to vote for their favorite scarecrows during the month of October. Ballots are available at participating businesses. More than 40 are displayed all over town – in front of shops, in store windows and even inside one or two places –  as part of Landrum’s third annual Great Scarecrow Contest.
