Grace Courville Jones

Grace Virginia Courville Jones, 95, beloved wife of Harold Taylor Jones, formerly of Freehold, N.J., passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, Oct.12, 2015 at Tryon Estates, Columbus, N.C. where they have lived since 2009.

Born in St. Albans, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Larabee Courville. She attended beauty school after high school and worked in her mother’s beauty salon in Freehold and then graduated from Rider College in Trenton, N.J. after which she obtained a position in the NJ State’s Attorney’s Office. Grace and Harold were co-owners of H.T. Jones Transportation Co., Inc. in Freehold for 31 years before retiring to Wilton, Maine, Sun City Center, Fla. and The Villages, Fla.

In addition to her husband of 73 years, she is survived by her three daughters; Susan Harris (Stan); Diane Ames (Marty) and Gail Atkins (Alan), 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Her sister, Vi Jarahian, and brother, George Courville, preceded her in death.

A funeral mass will be held in The Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, Spartanburg, S.C., on Thursday, Oct.15, 2015 at 12 p.m.

In addition, a viewing will be held at Higgins Memorial Home in Freehold, N.J. on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015 from 3-5 p.m.

Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima’s Catholic Cemetery, Freehold, N.J. Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at 10 a.m.
