To the editor:

 

I just want to thank everyone who supported myself and Nancy Hasselbring on the reappointment of the animal cruelty investigators team. I am truly overwhelmed with the attendance at the commissioners meeting on Monday night, the words of encouragement from the speakers, and the letters that keep coming into the editor.

The community’s support has meant so much to us and has helped us get through this tough time.

We had a great team that worked well together along with Michael Herman to help Polk County be a better place to live.

Many thanks to Commissioner Ray Gasperson and Commissioner Shane Bradley for all their efforts to keep this team together. It’s just a shame that Tom Pack, Keith Holbert and Michael Gage who are voted into a position to serve the community can’t get past their own selfishness to do the right thing.

At least I can hold my head high when out in public and be proud that I did this job to the best of my ability and made the quality of life for a lot of the animals in Polk County much better.
