Peyton Kemmerlin threw a touchdown pass to Kericho Mcauley, and Kemmerlin also scored on a keeper, but Landrum’s comeback fell short, as Carolina Academy stopped the Cardinals, 21-14, at Cardinal Stadium on Friday, Sept. 18.
“Carolina had a great game plan, and jumped out to a 21-0 lead,” said Landrum head coach Jason Farmer.
The Cardinals, 2-2 overall, face their first conference rival of the season, Liberty, this Friday, Sept. 25, at Liberty. On Sept. 18, Powdersville powdered Liberty, 35-7.
After Carolina Academy took its early lead, “we cut it to 21-14, late in the third quarter,” Farmer continued, “and had opportunities to tie, but couldn’t execute. We will learn from this and move on.”
Opening kickoff at Liberty is set for 7:30 p.m.
