Jeffery Yale Hubbard

Jeffery Yale Hubbard, a.k.a. “Tonto” and “Vern,” of Tryon, N.C., formerly of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at the age of 56.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1959 in Flint, Mich., to Yale Raymond Hubbard and Sandra Jean Clemens. After high school he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where he met and married Marci Lancieri. He became step-dad to her son, Dennis, and they also had three more sons.
In 1986 they moved to Port St Lucie, Fla. where he soon joined the family business of drywall. Jeff and Marci divorced after 20 years and he moved to Tryon, N.C.
He had a love for the mountains and nature and often went on hikes. He enjoyed music, guitar, fishing and Nascar. He volunteered at the yearly Blue Ridge BBQ and other festivals in the Tryon area.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra Jean Hubbard; brothers, Gregory Hubbard and Brian Hubbard; sons, Jeremiah Hubbard, Daniel Hubbard and Jeffery Hubbard; grandchildren Daniel, Avery and Adalynd, and many family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be gathered in Florida at a later date. The Hubbard family graciously thanks Jeff’s friends in Tryon, N.C. for their love, support and gifts bestowed. They truly reflect “brotherly love.”
