Helping is a good thing

To the editor:
Last week Inky Cloud and her daughter lost everything when fire destroyed their home in Tryon. Thank God there was no loss of life.
When traumatic events affect the lives of our neighbors there are organizations that step in quickly to help secure temporary shelter and ensure that fundamental needs of the victims are satisfied. And of course other help such as insurance claims can take longer to come to fruition. Neighbors can help now by providing day-to-day assistance!
Two accounts to help Inky and her daughter get through this “rough patch” are now in place, one at our local IGA and the other at Owens Pharmacy. We can all contribute to “Inky’s Account” at either (or both) of these merchants by making a cash donation or when making a purchase simply ask that your change be applied to “Inky’s Account.”
Please help today, don’t put it off! People who live in the Tiny Kingdom, and in the empire of Polk, have a reputation of always doing the right thing. Thank you.
