Norman Douglas Griffin

Norman Douglas “Doug” Griffin, 72, died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Mtn. View Assisted Living.

A native of Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late James Norman Griffin and Myrtle V. Mowery Griffin.

Doug graduated in 1961 from Carolina High School in Greenville, SC.  He has lived in Henderson County for 20 plus years before moving to Anderson, SC; and eventually settling in Tryon, NC.  Doug was a former member and past president of the Tryon Rotary Club and was an avid golfer.  He was active in the Hendersonville Little Theater, and performed in the “Rain Maker” and “Sunday in New York”.

He is survived by a son, James Gregory Griffin and his wife Dawn of Winter Springs, FL; a daughter, Karen Griffin Biggert and her husband Andy Biggert of Asheville, NC; and two grandchildren, Mitchell Ryan and Caroline Ryan of Hendersonville.

A private service will be held.
