Alvin Levi Pace

Alvin Levi “Top” Pace, 89, of Valdosta, Ga. passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his home with his family and friends by his side. He was born on April 22, 1926 in Tryon, N.C. to the late Greenberry Lotan Pace and Dara Malonie Waters Pace. Mr. Pace served in the US Army Air Force during World War II and was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway Company after 40 years of service. Mr. Pace was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Valdosta.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Myrtle Lee Melton Pace, two sons, Alvin Pace, Jr. and Andy Pace, both of Valdosta, two brothers, Frank Pace of Greenville, S.C. and Carl Pace of Winston-Salem, N.C. and his sister, Ruth Foy of Tryon.
Funeral services were held on May 26, 2015 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta following receiving of friends at the funeral home. Burial followed at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with military honors. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
