Friends of the Library spring book sale at Polk County Public Library

If you are a reader and love to shop for bargains, you will not want to miss the Friends of the Polk County Public Library semi-annual book sale. Thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, and other materials will be for sale at the main library in Columbus, at prices that cannot be beat.
Members of Friends of the Library are invited to a special preview sale on Wednesday, April 22 from 4:30-7:30 p.m.; memberships may be purchased at the door at a cost of $10 for individuals and $15 for families. The sale will be open to the public on Thursday, April 23 from 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 24 from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; and Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m.-3:45 p.m.
Most books will range in price from $0.35 for children’s books to $1 for hardbacks. Special or rare materials may vary in price. On Saturday, remaining books and materials will be sold for $5 per bag. Shop early for the best selection, and then return for the best bargains!
All proceeds from the book sale are used by the Friends of the Library to support Polk County Public Library through projects such as contributing to the children’s Summer Reading Program and other events, sponsoring development opportunities for the library staff, holding appreciation events for the library volunteers, and planning free programs and speakers of general interest for the community.
The Friends of the Library welcome new members so they can expand the assistance they provide to Polk County Public Library.
