Nancy Nodine Burrell, 79, of Lynn, N.C. passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 13, 2015 in
Autumn Care of Saluda.
Born in Holly Springs, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Andrew Joseph and Elizabeth Jones
Nodine and widow of Roy Burrell who died in 2006. She was a former employee of Southern
Woven Labels, Columbus, N.C. and a member of Pacolet Baptist Church, Lynn, N.C.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce Burrell of Columbus, N.C. and Timothy Burrell of Lynn, N.C.;
one daughter, Joyce Smith (James) of Inman, S.C.; two sisters, Faye Page of Greer, S.C. and
Frances Phillips (Jack) of Columbus, N.C. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie
Burrell Mach who died in 2006. Also six grandchildren, Brian Smith (April), Joshua Smith
(Laine), Christopher Smith (Leiloni), Lisa Burrell, Mark Burrell (Sydney), and Jonathan Burrell.
One great grandchild, Holden Smith. She was predeceased by six sisters and four brothers,
Myrtle Nodine, Ruth Nodine, Pauline Erskine, Dorothy Nodine, Margaret Gowan, Era Barnette,
Hubert, James, Joe, and Herman Nodine.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel,
Tryon, N.C. with Rev. Jimmy Owens officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens,
Columbus, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday evening in the McFarland Funeral
Chapel, Tryon, N.C. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
